NE5534 5W Utility Power Amplifier
I needed a small amplifier to drive a pair of bookshelf speakers for testing other audio gear, such as tape decks and CD players, etc. I didn't need a lot of power, so I came up with this simple 5W power amplifier based on the NE5534 operational amplifier IC. Under testing at +/-18VDC, it produces 4.6W in to 8 ohms and 7W in to 4 ohms and is very stable. At the designed supply voltage of +/-25V (using an 18-0-18 50-60VA torodial transformer), I expect this will produce closer to 10W in to 8 ohm. This is perfect for my scenario for a "bench-test amplifier". Enjoy!
