Guitar Practice Amplifier (0.5W)
This little amplifier will happily drive a 4 - 8 ohm speaker to pretty loud levels, complete with overdrive using an LM386N as the output amplifier. Features overdrive, tone and master volume controls; an optional battery header connector to make this portable, and the supply voltages can be between 9 and 12V DC max.
C15 and C16 are optional and are only used if you want to increase the gain of the LM386N to 200 (C16 being on pin 7 of IC2, the bypass pin - and should be included at higher gains to decouple the supply rail), so it's up to you if you choose to install them. This would be up to your tastes and through experimentation.
Note: the SW1 header must be shorted together in order for the circuit to get power, as this is run via wires off to a switch on the front panel. LED1 can also be replaced with a header to run wires off to an LED also mounted on the front panel.
