DIY Smartwatch Using ESP8266
This project demonstrates how to build a basic smartwatch using the ESP8266 microcontroller. The watch can display time, weather updates, and motion-based data, making it an affordable and practical DIY wearable.
Steps to Build:)
1. Circuit Design: A simple circuit combining the ESP8266, OLED, and MPU6050 was designed and transferred onto a custom PCB.
2. Coding: The Arduino IDE was used to program the ESP8266, enabling features like syncing time with NTP servers and fetching weather updates.
3. Assembly: After soldering components onto the PCB, the setup was enclosed in a 3D-printed case designed to fit like a wristwatch.
Highlights for PCBWay Contest:)
- Custom PCB design for a compact and clean layout.
- Practical application of IoT and wearable technology in a simple projects.
- Scalability:)
This project can inspire further developments, such as fitness trackers, remote IoT controllers, or other wearable devices.
- Showcasing PCBWay’s Expertise:)
The precision, durability, and compactness of the PCB highlight PCBWay’s capabilities in delivering high-quality manufacturing for intricate designs.
