PA6-GF
Material type: Plastic, Thermoplastic, PA6 (Nylon 6) with Glass Fiber reinforcement
PA6-GF (Nylon 6 with Glass Fiber) is a high-performance engineering filament reinforced with glass fibers, designed to deliver exceptional strength, durability, and dimensional stability at a more cost-effective price than other premium engineering filaments. It minimizes warping compared to standard PA filaments and retains its mechanical properties even under elevated temperatures, making it ideal for demanding industrial and automotive applications. A hardened steel nozzle is recommended due to the abrasive nature of glass fiber, and the printed part achieves better toughness after exposure to moisture.

Material advantages
Built to Last: Exceptionally strong and durable due to reinforced glass fibers, making it the perfect choice for prints that need to withstand heavy use and resist bending or breaking. Dimensional Stability: Unparalleled dimensional stability thanks to glass fiber reinforcement, minimizing warping compared to standard PA filaments. Print with precise dimensions, even in the most intricate geometries. Exceptional Thermal Properties: High heat deflection temperature and superior dimensional stability, enabling it to retain its mechanical properties even under elevated temperatures. Ideal for demanding industrial and automotive applications. Chemical Resistance: Excellent resistance to chemicals, oils, and many kinds of solvents, ensuring long-term performance in challenging environments. Heat resistant UV resistant Wear resistant (Dry) Oil & grease resistant
Material shortcomings
Easy to warp: PA6-GF has a tendency to warp during printing, especially in large or thick parts.
Easy to clog: Glass fiber filament may wear out or clog nozzles.
Drying required before use: PA6-GF has a high moisture absorption rate and must be dried before printing to prevent poor layer adhesion and brittleness.
Brittleness (Dry): The material may be brittle in dry conditions.
Enclosure printers required: An enclosed chamber helps maintain a consistent temperature around the print, reducing warping and improving print quality.
Not food-safe: This product is not food-contact grade.
Skin irritation risk: Glass fiber reinforced filament may produce fine fiber debris during use, post-processing, or contact with rough or fractured surfaces, posing a risk of mechanical skin punctures or foreign body irritation. Wear protective gloves when loading/unloading filament, and during cutting, sanding, or other post-processing operations.
Recommended description
PA6-GF is a glass fiber-reinforced Nylon 6 filament for FDM/FFF 3D printing. It offers outstanding strength, durability, dimensional stability, and heat resistance (HDT 182 °C) at a cost-effective price point. The glass fiber reinforcement minimizes warping compared to standard PA filaments and provides excellent chemical resistance. It is ideal for functional parts, mechanical components, load-bearing parts, automotive components, structural parts, and industrial applications. However, it requires drying before use, an enclosed printer, and a hardened steel nozzle due to its high moisture absorption and abrasive glass fiber content. The printed part achieves better toughness after exposure to moisture.
