PA6-CF
Material type: Plastic, Thermoplastic, PA6 (Nylon 6) with Carbon Fiber reinforcement
PA6-CF is a carbon fiber reinforced PA6 (Nylon 6) filament. The carbon fiber reinforcement provides significantly high stiffness and strength properties in dry environments and maintains exceptional heat resistance and impact resistance. Similar to other CF filaments, these outstanding mechanical properties make it an ideal choice for printing fixtures, clamps, automotive and mechanical components and various structural and engineering parts that are used in dry environments.

Material advantages
Superior strength and stiffness: Keeps superior stiffness and strength properties in dry environments, perfect for printing load-bearing structural components. Bending Strength (XY, dry state) of 151 MPa and Bending Modulus (XY, dry state) of 5460 MPa, representing 18% and 24% improvements over normal PA-CF respectively.
Impact & vibration resistance: Offers excellent impact resistance, ensuring effective vibration resistance for prints that need to withstand impact, collision, and vibration. Impact Strength (XY, dry state) of 40.3 kJ/m².
Exceptional thermal resistance: Heat Deflection Temperature of 186 °C (0.45 MPa), significantly higher than ABS (87 °C), ASA (100 °C), and PC (117 °C).
Heat resistant.
Oil & grease resistant.
UV resistant.
Impact resistant.
Wear resistant (Dry).
Dimensional stability.
Material shortcomings
Easy to warp: PA6-CF has a tendency to warp during printing, especially in large or thick parts.
Easy to clog: Carbon fiber filament may wear out or clog nozzles.
Drying required before use: PA6-CF has a high moisture absorption rate and must be dried before printing to prevent poor layer adhesion and brittleness.
Not food-safe: This product is not food-contact grade. Avoid using printed parts for holding or contacting food. Skin irritation risk: The surface and edges may have invisible hard micro-spikes. Wear cut-resistant gloves and safety glasses when handling filament, removing supports, or sanding prints.
Recommended description
PA6-CF is a carbon fiber reinforced PA6 (Nylon 6) filament for FDM 3D printing. It delivers superior strength and stiffness in dry environments, with bending strength of 151 MPa and bending modulus of 5460 MPa, representing 18% and 24% improvements over normal PA-CF. It also offers exceptional thermal resistance (HDT of 186 °C) and excellent impact resistance (40.3 kJ/m²). It is ideal for automotive, mechanical, and structural parts used in dry environments, including fixtures, clamps, and load-bearing components. However, it requires drying before use, an enclosed printer, and a hardened steel nozzle due to its high moisture absorption and abrasive carbon fiber content.
