SEGA Game Gear to RGB TV Output Board

The board takes the Game Gear’s digital video data and turns it into analogue RGB with composite sync. It does this with 74HC374 latches, 74HC74 flip-flops, a 74HC04 inverter, resistor DACs and BC848/BC858 transistor buffers. That means a Game Gear, even one with a dead screen, can be played on an RGB-capable TV or SCART display.
It is based on Tim Worthington’s GG RGB SCART design, which built on earlier work by Victor Kemp and the SMS Power community. The board has a Nintendo multi-out edge connector, so standard SNES-style RGB cables can be used, and enlarged pads for custom wiring.
All parts are SMD on the top side, and KiCad files, gerbers, BOM and placement data are included.
