GGSND – Sega Game Gear Stereo Sound Board
This is a small replacement sound board for the Sega Game Gear, made for consoles whose original sound board was damaged by leaking capacitors. It uses the SMD TDA2822D dual amplifier and a simplified circuit that’s easier to build.
The original board is mono because the Game Gear has only one speaker. This design adds a second speaker output, so you can fit a second 4 Ω speaker and get stereo, just like with headphones.
It’s a two-layer 55 × 31 mm board with a 3.5 mm headphone jack, a volume pot, two JST PH speaker connectors and a 6-pin JST PH connector to the mainboard. The author describes it as a work in progress, so build it at your own risk.
