AMSGateArray – CPLD Replacement for the Amstrad CPC 40007 Gate Array

This is just sharing the project from https://github.com/codedchip/AMSGateArray, created by Darren Johnstone (codedchip). AMSGateArray recreates the Amstrad CPC's hard-to-find gate array chip on a Xilinx XC95288XL CPLD, whose 5 V-tolerant I/O lets it plug straight into the original DIP-40 socket.

Two prototype boards are included: one for the 40010 pinout used in the CPC 6128 and one for the 40007 pinout used in the CPC 464. Each is a simple two-layer board with a 3.6 V regulator, a JTAG programming header and the CPLD. The Verilog is built on Gerald's decapped-die schematics and partly on Gyorgy Szombathelyi's MiSTer core.

The 40010 version has been tested in a real CPC 6128, running games and demanding demos such as Batman Forever and Phortem, while the 40007 version is still untested. The design and Verilog are released under the GPL.
