VLF Up-Converter
IMPORTANT NOTE:
Due to the fact that the NE612, NE602, SA602 or SA612 chips are no longer in stock from major suppliers, the assembled version from PCBWay will be delivered with ought the IC and you will install that one on your own ( not provided by PCB Way ). Instead PCBWay will only install the IC socket so you don't have to do any soldering.
A portable NE612 VLF up-converter VLF 0 - 77kHz to HF10.000 - 10.077MHz, so you can have your own VLF monitoring station and start exploring the invisible world of very low frequency radio waves. You can also use it to receive the occasional SAQ transmissions, listen to the submarine signals and much more. It works with any receiver that has the 30m band ( 10MHz ) and SSB or CW modes. You can also build it with other crystals for 3.5MHz or 4MHz, but I prefer 10MHz. The project is a slightly modified version from other circuits I found online. It's recommended to place it into a metal enclosure. You will have to provide the external hardware. PCB Way will not provide these on the assembled version.
NE612, NE602, SA602, SA612 or equivalent chips can be used. Most cannot be found in a THT version, but there are many stores selling the SMD version mounted on a THT adapter. I happen to have a few THT versions thanks to my friend Nigel ( ZL1NAY ) who sent them to me a few years ago. More details in the Blog Article ( Coming Soon ).
