Description

Led Chaser, Mostly SMD, using NE555 & CD4017

NE555 & CD4017 LED CHASER

-The LEDS, RESISTORS AND INTEGRATED CIRCUITS are all SMD, therefore there are 3mm TH Leds, TH Potentiomer and TH 1*2 Pinheader.

-All files such as BOM, CENTROID, GERBERS, LAYOUT and SCHEMATIC is included.

-Input 5-9V DC.

HOW DOES THIS CIRCUIT WORK:

-The NE555 is configured as an astable multivibrator, generating continuous clock pulses that drive the CD4017. Each pulse from the 555 advances the CD4017’s output, turning on one LED at a time in sequence. Once all 10 outputs are used, the CD4017 automatically resets and starts again, creating a smooth running-light or chasing effect. The chase speed can be adjusted by changing potentiomer connected to the NE555.
