Ultra Compact Boost Converter Module
This project features an ultra-compact, high-efficiency boost converter module designed using the TPS61023 switching regulator IC. The board is optimized for small size, high reliability, and easy manufacturing, making it ideal for modern portable and battery-powered electronics. The converter efficiently steps up low input voltages to a stable higher output, making it a perfect solution for Li-ion batteries, single-cell power sources, and low-voltage embedded systems.

TPS61023 uses R1 & R2 to set output voltage.
Formula (from datasheet):
VOUT = 0.5 × (1 + R1 / R2)
Where:
R1 = Top resistor (VOUT → FB)
R2 = Bottom resistor (FB → GND)

✅ 5V Output (Recommend)
R1 = 900K
R2 = 100K
VOUT = 0.5 × (1 + 900k / 100k)
VOUT = 0.5 × (1 + 9)
VOUT = 0.5 × 10
VOUT = 5.0 V
✅ 3.3V Output (Best Efficiency)
R1 = 560kΩ
R2 = 100kΩ
VOUT = 0.5 × (1 + 560k / 100k)
VOUT = 0.5 × (1 + 5.6)
VOUT = 0.5 × 6.6
VOUT = 3.3 V
✅ 9V Output (Light Medium Load)
R1 = 1.7MΩ
R2 = 100kΩ
VOUT = 0.5 × (1 + 1700k / 100k)
VOUT = 0.5 × (1 + 17)
VOUT = 0.5 × 18
VOUT = 9.0 V
✅ 12V Output (Very Light Load Only)
R1 = 2.3MΩ
R2 = 100kΩ
VOUT = 0.5 × (1 + 2300k / 100k)
VOUT = 0.5 × (1 + 23)
VOUT = 0.5 × 24
VOUT = 12.0 V
Power & current capability
Typical output power limits:
VIN: 3.7V || 3.0V || 1.8V
VOUT: 5V || 5V || 3.3V
Max Load: ~1A || ~700 mA || ~600 mA
This allows the module to be easily configured for 5V, 3.3V, or other custom voltages, making it flexible for different applications.
