These rubber wheels are commonly used in small robotic mobile platforms such as 2WD and 4WD robots. They are normally designed to work with standard DC gear motors using a dedicated motor adapter. However, when using compact N20 gear motors, these wheels cannot be mounted directly because the motor shaft is much smaller and the mounting style is completely different. Due to this mismatch, there is no ready-made adapter available that allows a secure and proper connection.

To solve this problem, I designed a custom motor coupler using Autodesk Fusion 360. The purpose of this coupler is to create a strong and accurate mechanical connection between the N20 gear motor shaft and the wheel hub. The coupler fits tightly onto the motor shaft and is locked in place using a side set screw, ensuring stable rotation and reliable torque transfer without slipping or wobbling.

Designing the coupler in Fusion 360 allowed precise control over dimensions and tolerances, making the part easy to manufacture and modify if needed. This solution makes it possible to use N20 gear motors with these commonly available robot wheels, expanding their usability in compact robot car projects, educational platforms, and DIY mobile robots.
