The design stage is a critical step in the development of electronic products. When placing an order, you may be faced with the choice of whether to do sample testing first or go directly to mass production?

No matter how carefully a design is done, real-world performance may still differ due to layout, assembly processes, component tolerances, EMI issues, etc. A physical sample helps confirm the board functions as intended and allows early detection of problems.
Skipping sample testing and going directly to mass production can be risky. If there's a design flaw, the entire batch may be unusable or require expensive rework, leading to both time delays and financial loss.
Samples also allow for firmware debugging, software testing, and even mechanical or enclosure verification. This ensures that all aspects of the product are validated before scaling up.
If the client decides not to produce a sample, the following risks must be accepted:
1. Design may not work as intended
2. Incorrect component selections or mismatches
3. Power stability or signal compatibility issues
4. Waste of materials, delays in delivery, and unexpected costs
We understand that budget or time constraints may lead some clients to skip the dedicated sample step. In such cases, we strongly recommend producing a small batch of boards before committing to full-scale production. This helps minimize risk and allows for critical testing before it's too late to make changes.
