DC/DC Voltage Booster
Why I Made This Project
I needed a reliable way to power different electronics that require variable voltage levels. Instead of using multiple power sources, I designed a compact DC-DC power booster based on the MC34063 switching regulator. This allows me to efficiently step up voltage from 5V to 30V, making it useful for DIY electronics, robotics, and embedded systems.
How It Works
The circuit takes a low DC input voltage (5V) and boosts it up to a higher level (adjustable up to 30V). The MC34063 IC handles the switching, while an inductor, Schottky diode, and capacitors ensure efficient power conversion. A resistor divider network helps set the output voltage, and an optional potentiometer allows easy adjustments.
