Zen Pilot – Intelligent Control System

We are two engineers from Italy working together under the name PriscoZen.

My name is Ing. Carlo Prisco, Innovation Manager and founder of PriscoZen, with over ten years of experience in automation, IoT, and software development. Alongside me is Fabio Marchese, an electrical and robotics specialist with strong expertise in electronics and industrial automation.

Together, we are developing Zen Pilot, an intelligent quality control system designed for Industry 4.0 applications.

The idea came from our work with small and medium-sized companies that often struggle with implementing affordable and reliable quality control solutions. Zen Pilot is our answer: a compact and robust device that combines custom electronics, industrial sensors, and AI-powered software.

At the heart of the project is a custom PCB that we have designed. This board connects directly with sensors such as smart cameras and encoders, and it can control actuators and alarms through relays. It also features Ethernet communication, allowing it to send data to a web dashboard built in Python/Flask. On the software side, Zen Pilot provides operators with real-time monitoring, defect detection powered by computer vision, and full traceability of production data.

We have already carried out the first live demonstrations inside a manufacturing company. The prototype successfully detected and managed production signals, proving the potential of Zen Pilot in a real-world industrial environment. You can see a short video of the demo here:

We are currently in the prototyping stage. The schematics and first layouts are complete, and the firmware and dashboard are under active development. The next step, which is crucial, is to manufacture and assemble the PCB so that we can build a fully working prototype. Our main goal is to showcase Zen Pilot at Maker Faire Rome 2025, one of the largest European innovation events.
