Voltstar Racing Team Sponsorship Request

Founded in 2024, Voltstar Racing is a team of 30 dedicated students, including coders, CAD modelers, social media marketers, and graphic designers, all working towards a shared mission: to dominate our two competitions, EV Grand Prix (EVGP) and Greenpower. We are passionate about pushing the boundaries of electric vehicle performance, endurance, and efficiency.

Our Achievements So Far

We recently achieved 1st place in the SABIS STEAM competition, showcasing our innovation and technical excellence.

In our first major competition, EVGP, we competed against 40 other teams and won six awards, making us the second most decorated team of the event. Among these awards were Sportsmanship, Technical Innovation, Graphic Design, and Marketing, highlighting our dedication to both engineering excellence and team spirit. Although we did not win the race, our performance proved our potential, and we are determined to come back stronger next year. Our next challenge is the Greenpower competition on May 4th, followed by EVGP in February next year.

Our Technology

Our team heavily relies on 3D printing for rapid prototyping and custom part fabrication. Over time, we have honed our skills and become highly proficient in using 3D printing technology to create lightweight, durable, and complex components tailored to our race cars' specific needs.

Our race cars are fully electric, running on lead-acid batteries and incorporating an advanced telemetry system that utilizes Arduinos, LoRa modules, GPS, and driver display screens. However, our current system involves overly complicated wiring, which increases the risk of failures and maintenance difficulties. We have also faced setbacks, including a major crash, which we thought was the end, but our resilience allowed us to fully repair and rebuild the car within 10 days.

Our Future Plans

For next year’s EVGP, we aim to:

Redesign our telemetry system by replacing our existing setup with a PCB-based solution or a device similar to Telemtrum for greater reliability and efficiency.

Implement a unique battery switching system, allowing for quicker pit stops and longer endurance.

Improve aerodynamics and weight reduction, optimizing energy efficiency for better performance.

Upgrade our braking system for enhanced safety and control.

Why We Need PCBWay’s Support

One of our biggest challenges is financial constraints and system complexity. The ability to rapidly prototype and manufacture PCBs would allow us to simplify our electronics, reduce weight, improve durability, and enhance data acquisition and analysis. With PCBWay’s support, we can bring our ambitious ideas to life and focus on performance rather than troubleshooting wiring issues.

Our Ultimate Goal

The EV Grand Prix and Greenpower competitions test the endurance and efficiency of electric vehicles, and we are committed to developing the most efficient and robust race car possible. We are very confident in our chances for the F24 (Greenpower) race, and with PCBWay’s support, we can guarantee victory.

Our Team and Outreach

We have a hardworking marketing team focused on outreach and engagement, ensuring our brand reaches a wider audience. Our graphics team is incredibly talented, creating meaningful designs that reflect our vision. Our previous car featured hand-painted Sharjah scenery and culture, showcasing our deep connection to our home. Moving forward, we will incorporate PCBWay’s branding on our car, recognizing their valuable support.
