University of Toronto Formula Student Racing Car

The University of Toronto Formula Racing Team is an undergraduate engineering design team that designs and builds a small formula-style race car to compete in the international Formula Student and Formula SAE design competitions. Every year, the team builds on prior learning to revise its design and manufacture a brand new car.



Formula Student/SAE is the world’s largest engineering design competition, between over 500 universities and colleges worldwide. Students compete to build the fastest car, as evaluated by dynamic tests and an endurance race, and are judged on their design rationale and business acumen by industry professionals. This unique environment is a breeding ground for future talent – not only in the automotive sector or the realm of motorsport – but for all disciplines of industry and commerce.

Since 1998, the University of Toronto Formula Racing Team has enjoyed great success in both Europe and North America, all thanks to the help of our sponsors and community partners. We depend on the products and services offered by these generous businesses and individuals in order to accomplish our goals every year. In return, we thank them with all the publicity we can offer on our car, at our public appearances, and online. We’ve worked with a variety of supporters to draw attention to our partnership, and we continue to work hard to make our partnerships mutually beneficial.

Instead of offering predefined sponsorship levels with fixed benefits, we work closely with our partners to maximize the return on their investment in our future. At a minimum, we offer all of our sponsors logo space on our car and on the sponsorship banner that accompanies us to our public appearances. We also make posts about our partners on our social media accounts, which reach approximately 2,500 people and can be tailored to promote individual products, services, or promotional offers.  We’re always open to giving back however we can, so individual partner needs are largely what determine our sponsorship arrangements. We look forward to building new relationships with exciting new partners, and we’re always looking for supporters to join our roster.
