TeamKART KE-1

ABOUT US

TeamKART is the official Formula Student team of Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur. It is a student project under the Department of Mechanical Engineering that involves designing and manufacturing Formula-style cars since 2008. With these, we participate in reputed national and international college-level engineering design and management competitions that are conducted by Formula Bharat and IMechE (UK) under the name of Formula Student.

OUR ACHIEVEMENTS!

We have manufactured 8 combustion vehicles till date and participated in 3 international and 5 national competitions. We participated in Formula Bharat 2023 with our 8th combustion car K-6, in January 2023, bagging a place among the Top 10 teams and ranking 3rd in the Cost & Manufacturing Event. We also bagged the 1st position in Formula Bharat Virtual 2021 in the CV category, along with the Best Power train Design and the Best Engineering Design Concept.

KE-1

Formula Bharat 2025 will be the first Formula Student competition where TeamKART is going to participate with its electric vehicle KE-1.

KE-1 is Formula Student style race car, supported by a space frame chassis, with a self designed battery pack made of Lithium ion NMC pouch cells supplying 64Ah at 88.8V nominal voltage. It is powering a AGNI-119R, axial flux DC motor, with rated torque output of 33Nm@4500 rpm. The Vehicle Control Unit (VCU) of the car is based on ESP32 MCU, interfacing with various sensors and Kelly KDZ Motor controller and featuring freeRTOS.

For KE-1, our team needs to design and implement various PCBs for safety circuitry, VCU, dashboard and data acquisition systems.
