TALIA MODEL SATELLITE

Hello, my name is Semiha. I am studying Electrical and Electronics Engineering at Fatih Sultan Mehmet Vakıf University. We are 6 students that participated in the TEKNOFEST & TURKSAT Model Satellite Competition. A lot of team from Turkey and other countries participates the competition which organized with TURKSAT and Turkish Technology Team Foundation. Last year, over 95 team and 500 students from best Universities of Turkey competed. Every year, the number of contestant teams are increases.

We joined this competition in 2019 and 2020. First year we went to Ankara, Golbasi for the competition. We had a successful flight but we had economical problems so couldn’t do all the missions. We were one of the rare teams which could fly successfully. Also we joined this year CanSat model satellite competition. These competitions are very important experience for us. In addition these competitions made a great contribution to our development. In this way we became a very strong team. Therefore we decided to joined again this year for better degree in competition.

TURKSAT Model Satellite Competition is a design-build-launch competition. It provides competitors with the opportunity to experience the process of a satellite system from design to commissioning. The TURKSAT Model Satellite Competition is planned to reflect a space / satellite project on a small we went to Ankara, Golbasi for the competition. We had a successful flight but we had economical problems so couldn’t do all the missions. We couldn’t buy some electronical parts, like spare of the sensors and communication module. We were one of the rare teams which could fly successfully. It covers all aspects of a space / satellite project, from design to production and post-mission review. Competition; It is designed to reflect various aspects of real systems, with features such as meeting telemetry and communication requirements, providing autonomous structure and developing a system that works interdisciplinary.
