Prometheus Rocket Team

We are Prometheus Rocket Team, a group of dedicated engineering students from Marmara University, united by our passion for rocketry and innovation. Our team, consisting of 20 members from diverse engineering disciplines such as mechanical, electronics, and embedded systems, thrives on collaboration and interdisciplinary synergy.

Since our inception, we have participated multiple times in Teknofest, Turkey's premier aerospace and technology festival. Our journey has been marked by relentless determination, pushing the boundaries of what a student-led team can achieve in the competitive realm of rocketry. Teknofest has provided us not only with a platform to showcase our ingenuity but also with invaluable experiences that have honed our technical skills and problem-solving abilities.

One of the defining features of our team is our holistic approach to rocket design. Every component of our rockets is meticulously crafted in-house, showcasing our commitment to self-reliance and mastery of the entire development process. From writing the intricate software that controls the avionics to designing robust PCBs that ensure seamless electronic communication, we take pride in our ability to innovate across multiple domains.

Our mechanical engineering subgroup focuses on creating durable and aerodynamically optimized structures, including the nose cones and rocket bodies. Leveraging advanced materials and precision manufacturing techniques, we ensure that the rockets are both lightweight and resilient under extreme conditions. Meanwhile, our electrical and electronics team designs and integrates custom circuits, ensuring that our rockets’ sensors, telemetry systems, and other vital electronics perform flawlessly.

The embedded systems subgroup is the brain of our operation, writing and refining the code that powers the rockets’ intelligent systems. From trajectory optimization to real-time data acquisition and analysis, our efforts ensure that every launch is both safe and efficient. Together, we form a cohesive unit, driven by a shared vision to achieve excellence in every facet of rocketry.

Our success lies not only in technical expertise but also in our teamwork and leadership. Each of us brings unique skills to the table, and our ability to collaborate across disciplines has been instrumental in overcoming complex challenges. Our organizational structure promotes a culture of innovation and continuous learning, allowing even the newest members to contribute meaningfully to our ambitious projects.
