Power Distribution Unit- University of Missouri Formula SAE

About the Team:

Mizzou Racing is a Formula SAE from the University of Missouri planning to compete in Formula SAE Michigan and Formula SAE Lincoln in the 2019 competition season. Formula SAE is an international competition for university engineers to develop a racecar and hone their engineering talents, more detailed information about the competition can be found at https://www.sae.org/attend/student-events/formula-sae-michigan. Thus Mizzou Racing is a team of interdisciplinary engineers building mechanical and electronic components for an automotive application. 

Power Distribution Unit:

From years of development, we found that a good and affordable power distribution system that meets the needs of a small scale automotive project does not exist. So we went and designed our own power distribution system that is both flexible and robust enough for our application. 

The system consists of a set of high side gate drivers to control power to individual loads and the main system chip running a Real-Time Operating System to handle management of the system. 

This system is capable of load current measurement, software programmable fusing, and software restart strategies to keep systems powered.

As a collegiate team, we are on a very tight budget to build each year's car and must seek most of our funding from companies who are generous enough to invest in higher-level education. If PCBWay were able to generously donate PCB manufacturing services and PCB assembly services we would be very grateful. These services would allow the engineers on the team to pursue development of electronics and electronic solutions in the automotive industry, and contributing to the education experience of young engineers pursing education in relative fields. We would be able to put your name and logo on our car, team apparel, and expose you to our 5000+ social media followers.
