Welcome to my project!
I am Gabber Burgundo, and I present to you my latest creation: the PCB_VITAL MAGNETIC BALANCER VERSION N°1.
This project stems from my personal vision of electronics, where the rigor of hardware engineering meets pure design, merging into what I love to call PCB Art.
What is it, and why did I create it?
The idea behind this board, engraved with the words “Experimental Research Device”, was to build a complex platform for experimentation. But I didn’t want to simply route a functional circuit: I wanted an object that captures the eye. I decided to create it to demonstrate that a research device can also be a work of art.
If you look closely at the board, you’ll notice it is covered by a “texture” of exposed pads and vias forming a geometric golden carpet. Against this backdrop stand the components, strictly chosen in THT (Through-Hole Technology) format to give the whole piece an industrial, robust, and deliberately retro look, enhancing the symmetry of the layout.
How does it work?
The board is designed as a visually and technically stimulating test environment, divided into several functional zones:
The Magnetic Core
At the center of the scene stand four imposing toroidal inductors. Arranged in perfect symmetry, they form the key element for the device’s balancing operations and flux management.
Control Interface
In the lower section, I added a generous bank of DIP switches (red 10‑way units and secondary black banks). This allows the operator to physically configure experiment parameters, changing test modes in a tactile and immediate way.
Power Management
The system offers plenty of flexibility. At the top, sturdy screw terminals provide the main power input, while at the bottom two coin‑cell battery slots are integrated—ideal for keeping low‑power logic active or preserving settings.
