MCR Met Racing

MCR MET Racing is the official Formula Student team of Manchester Metropolitan University, dedicated to designing, engineering, and building a high-performance, single-seater race car for the renowned Formula Student competition at Silverstone. Our project brings together over 60 passionate students from diverse engineering and non-engineering backgrounds, providing hands-on experience in every stage of the process-from concept and CAD design to manufacturing, assembly, and rigorous testing. This year, we are proud to be expanding into the Electric Vehicle category, pushing the boundaries of innovation and sustainability. We participate in Formula Student not only to compete against top university teams worldwide but also to develop our technical skills, teamwork, and project management abilities, preparing us for future careers in engineering and technology. Our team uses advanced engineering tools and collaborates across sub-teams such as Chassis, Suspension, Electrical, Aerodynamics, and Powertrain to create a car that excels in both static and dynamic events.
