The University of Windsor has a rich history of participating in Formula SAE events, switching to competing in the Electric category in the 2022 year. The University of Windsor Formula SAE Electric team, consisting of over 100 dedicated undergraduate and master's students, is a pioneering initiative embodying innovation, engineering excellence, and a competitive spirit.

Our goal is to excel at two upcoming Formula SAE events including Formula Hybrid and Formula Electric from April 28-May 1 and June 10-June 15, 2025, respectively. Leveraging our collective years of experience, we strive to craft a high-performance electric race car in the Formula style that can rival other prominent university and college teams throughout North America.

As electric vehicles become the new focus, we are building on the University of Windsor Formula SAE Combustion team's two-decade legacy. With a strong team and proven project management, we are set to create an electric race car that meets Formula SAE rules. The team participates in various events throughout the year, with the main one being FSAE Electric hosted at the Michigan International Speedway. By participating in seven events, including Design, Cost, Presentation, Acceleration, Skid Pad, Autocross, and Endurance, the team can display years of hard work to industry judges with expertise in diverse areas.

January 2022 marked the University of Windsor Formula Electric's return to the FSAE competition after a pandemic-induced hiatus. Despite being newcomers, we secured the 56th position out of a total of 69 teams, a valuable learning experience for our team. During the event, we eagerly absorbed insights from experienced teams worldwide, which ignited our inspiration for this year's design and the establishment of a sustainable, long-term program. Building on last year's experience, we invested in learning from the competition and used the feedback to shape a clear vision of success for this year. Our goal this year is to place in the top 25 of FSAE teams and we are well under way to meet that target.

The team would benefit immensely from the help of PCBWay. As an electrically focused team, PCBs form the backbone of all of our projects from safety indicator boards, custom inverters, control systems and high power distribution. As a team, we require rapid prototyping and testing to push our designs and ensure they do not become a failure point.

For example, this is a board designed by our team that is one of the many crucial PCBs involved in the creation of a custom BMS.

PCBWay's support would enable us to develop more efficient and reliable electrical products. Our team is ecstatic for the chance to work with PCBWay and achieve our goals through their support.
