Jericho – Student-Built High-Power Rocket with Custom Avionics


Jericho is the next major milestone for Team Dhruvishaya Rocketry & Space Research (RSCOE), a student-led aerospace team dedicated to designing, developing, and testing model rockets while promoting hands-on learning in propulsion, aerodynamics, avionics, and systems engineering.

Founded in 2025 and based in Pune, Maharashtra, our team was established with a vision of cultivating the high-profile pioneers of tomorrow's space frontier. Through research, innovation, and collaborative engineering, we aim to develop complex space systems while preparing students to contribute to the future of the global aerospace industry.

Our journey began with PRARAMBH-I, our first professionally designed solid rocket motor. After months of design, manufacturing, and testing, we successfully completed a static fire test, giving us valuable insights into propulsion performance, structural integrity, and testing procedures. With this milestone achieved, we are now moving to the next phase of our journey—building and flying our first complete rocket, Jericho.

Jericho is being designed as a high-performance student rocket with a completely custom avionics system. Rather than relying on off-the-shelf electronics, we are developing our own PCB to integrate the flight computer, power management, sensor interfaces, telemetry, and data logging into a compact, lightweight, and reliable platform. This approach not only improves reliability and reduces wiring complexity but also gives our team invaluable experience in real-world aerospace electronics design.

The avionics system will monitor the rocket throughout every stage of flight, collecting data from onboard sensors, recording mission parameters, and supporting safe recovery after landing. Every PCB revision is carefully designed, tested, and improved based on engineering analysis and practical validation.

As a student-led team, PCB fabrication represents one of our largest development costs. Sponsorship would enable us to manufacture multiple prototype revisions, validate our designs more quickly, and build a safer and more reliable avionics system for Jericho. Your support would directly contribute to the education of future aerospace engineers while helping us transform our designs into a flight-ready rocket.
