Illinois Space Society: TARS 2021

The Illinois Space Society from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign is participating in the Intercollegiate Rocket Engineering Competition 2021 at Spaceport America, New Mexico. We’re developing the rocket’s avionics system with many capabilities in mind, such as sensor data acquisition, engine abort, active control using servo actuation, custom software, software and hardware redundancy, and power management. To have our avionics board be capable of all these features, we’ve put a lot of thought into our system architecture, component list, and overall PCB design.
