GSXR1000 Crosskart

Introduction:


As a final year mechanical engineering student, my passion for motorsports and fast cars has led me to embark on an exciting project. I've spent many hours watching YouTube tutorials on related topics like suspension geometry and rollcage design. The project is about building a high-performance crosskart with a focus on minimal weight.


The Crosskart:


The vision for my crosskart is a powerful, nimble vehicle that is a blast to drive on any terrain, including ice and tarmac. With a GSXR1000 sports bike engine providing 184 HP, my goal is to maintain a total weight under 360 KG, resulting in a power-to-weight ratio similar to a Ferrari 458 Speciale!


Progress so far:


I have made significant progress on the crosskart, completing most of the frame and welding. The control arms and steering components are also in place. Currently, I am working on mounting the engine, finalizing the driveline and designing both a fuel tank and the brake pedal assembly.



The Sponsorship Request:


I am seeking support from PCBWay. Their assistance with laser-cut sheet metal parts for the fuel tank, various mounting tabs, and brake pedal assembly will ensure high precision and will save me a lot of time (and cut-off wheels for the grinder haha).


The Future:


As the crosskart project advances, I plan to not only participate in races on ice and tarmac but also showcase the vehicle at various car events.
