F-35D(VSTOL-AIRCRAFT)

Hi, I’m Aman Siddharth, a student from Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Bengaluru.

I’m passionate about aeronautics, robotics, and embedded electronics.

Since my school days, I’ve always loved building and experimenting with machines that move, fly, or think for themselves. Over time, this passion has turned into a series of projects that helped me explore new fields of technology.

My Projects & Achievements:

1. Mars Rover — Project ZEUS

Designed and built a functional Mars Rover prototype capable of terrain navigation and obstacle detection.

Won 1st Place in the OBOTZ Olympiad, hosted by OBOTS Andhra Pradesh & Telangana.

Integrated sensor-based control, autonomous movement, and wireless operation.

2. RC F-35 D (Inspired by F-35B Lightning II) (current project)

A radio-controlled jet aircraft featuring thrust vectoring, ducted fan propulsion, and aerodynamic flight design.

Demonstrates concepts of STOVL (Short Takeoff and Vertical Landing) and flight stabilization systems.

3. 1:25 Scale RC Car

Custom-built 1/25 scale RC car with a real metal chassis for durability and performance.

Focused on mechanical strength, torque balance, and steering precision.

Incorporates modular electronics for easy upgrades and repairs.

4. Multi-Rotor Drone

Designed a drone platform with stabilized flight, Bluetooth control, and lightweight frame.

Focused on flight stability, sensor feedback, and aerial maneuvering.

5. ACP — Track-Based Electrical Cycle

Developed a smart electric cycle capable of self-charging through a track-based smart dynamo system.

Generates and stores energy during motion.

Aims to promote sustainable transportation and energy-efficient design.

What Drives Me:

I love transforming ideas into working prototypes.

Every project I build teaches me something new — from coding microcontrollers to testing aerodynamics, from 3D modeling to circuit design.

My goal is to pursue a career in aerospace robotics or mechatronic systems, where innovation can shape the future of intelligent machines.

ABOUT MY PROJECT:

My project is about designing and building a radio-controlled (RC) jet aircraft inspired by the F-35B Lightning II, one of the world’s most advanced stealth fighter jets.

The goal is to create a functional prototype (F-35 D) that demonstrates STOVL (Short Takeoff and Vertical Landing) behavior, aerodynamic efficiency, and thrust-vectoring control, using affordable and accessible RC components.

I decided to make this project because:

I’ve always been fascinated by modern fighter aircraft and their engineering complexity.

The F-35B’s ability to take off vertically and transition smoothly to high-speed flight inspired me to explore VTOL (Vertical Take-Off and Landing) mechanics in an RC version.

It’s a great way to combine my interests in aerodynamics, electronics, and mechanical design, while learning real-world applications of control systems and flight dynamics.

Structure & Design:

The body is made from lightweight foam or composite material modeled after the F-35’s stealthy aerodynamic shape.

It uses elevons (elevator + aileron combination) for pitch and roll control.

Propulsion System:

A ducted fan unit (EDF) generates jet-like thrust.

The rear nozzle is equipped with servo-based thrust vectoring, allowing directional control and aiding in vertical lift and stability.

Electronics:

Transmitter/Receiver (RC System): Controls flight movement.

Flight Controller (optional): Stabilizes pitch and roll using sensors.

Servos: Control elevons, nozzle direction, and landing gear.

Battery (Li-Po): Powers the EDF and servos.

Gps and camera: For wireless telemetry or mobile monitoring.

Operation:

During takeoff, thrust is directed downward for lift.

Once airborne, the vectoring nozzle transitions backward for forward flight.

Elevons manage maneuverability during horizontal flight.

I love PCBWAY way because of the way they support people with talent and ideas to bring their dream to a reality

we need your support as we have all the plan ready but we lack the required components and funding

thank you PCBWAY.
