EchoLingo - The Ultimate Handheld Offline Translator
EchoLingo is an offline translator built on a Raspberry Pi 5. It utilizes a Python script to integrate VOSK speech recognition, CTranslate2 translation matrices, and Piper TTS for speech synthesis. My team at The Village Middle School has made this to help people overcome language barriers in their line of work, such as disaster workers. In the video below, you can see the prototype of the translator. Using two buttons and two LEDs as a simple user interface, it is easily used by anyone.
We would like to be sponsored and assisted by PCBWay in the development and manufacturing of the final, production-ready version of the translator. We don't have a lot of experience with designing PCB schematics, but we would like to make the whole system into one PCB, like many products. We have some basic ideas for making it smaller, like using the CM5 instead of the Raspberry Pi 5.
Could PCBWay teach us some basics of PCB development and help us make EchoLingo into a fully fledged product? Thank you for considering this project for sponsorship.
