Dynamics e.V. Formula Student Team

Introduction

Dynamics e.V. is the Formula Student Team of the OTH Regensburg. We are a student association with currently around 80 active members that has been developing and producing racing cars according to the Formula Student regulations since 2007 and competes with them throughout Europe. Formula Student is the largest international student design competition in the world.

In 2019, we switched to electric drive. For this season, we want to improve our last big concept change, which includes a four-wheel drive and the integration of a system for autonomous driving. With this we would like to follow the top 5 rankings of our combustion cars.

Our PCBs

Vehicle Control Unit

As the brain of the car, the vehicle control unit is responsible for what the car is doing at all times. It reads sensor inputs and communicates with all other control units using three CAN busses.

Dashpanel

The Dashpanel sits in front of the cockpit and shows the driver important parameters about the car. It also reads sensor inputs from the front of the car and sends them to the VCU. The driver can use buttons and encoders on the steering wheel to control the menu shown on the display and adjust settings.

In total we have about 15 different PCBs with various functions built into our car.

We have used PCBWay services in the past and have been very happy with the results. For a fast and efficient assembly we require solder paste stencils to build our pcbs.
