College Community Smart Badge
ALACRITY is a technical and cultural festival that is run entirely by students. As the Student Council's General Secretary, I have witnessed firsthand how much work, chaos, and coordination go into organizing a big festival, and how little of that work is truly remembered after the event. The project began with the straightforward question, "Why does something as significant as a core team ID end up being a piece of plastic that is forgotten in a drawer?"
Our goal was to create something unique, something that the students who actually run the festival would find meaningful, technically sound, and alive.
The ALACRITY Smart Badge was inspired by that concept.

The badge features a display and LEDs to show:
-Event schedules and fest information
-Personal ID details with department-specific visuals
-Sound-reactive animations during live performances
-Integrated sponsor visuals in a clean, non-intrusive format
-Small interactive elements such as reaction-time testing
-The visuals and behavior of the badge change day by day, reflecting the progress and energy of the festival.
This engineering project is being led by students and involves:
-Personalized schematic and PCB design
-Development of embedded firmware
-Integration of sensors, LEDs, and displays
-Considerations for power management and dependability
-Rather than theoretical design, the project emphasizes real-world constraints and practical learning.
