Basketball Robot Innovation - ITS Robocon

INTRODUCTION

We are the robot research team of Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember, which was established in 2002 and focuses on robotics innovation research for ABU ROBOCON. Every year we participate in the ABU Indonesia robot competition (KRAI) and ABU Robocon at the international level. Our team has achieved various historic achievements, including winning 1st place at ABU Robocon in 2021 and 2nd place victory at ABU Robocon in 2022. These achievements prove that our team has skills in robotics and is able to compete at the global level.

Research and Development

Following the provisions of the ABU Robocon competition in 2025, in our next project, we will design and develop a robot that can play basketball. The robot is designed to be able to play the game like a human basketball player such as being able to dribble, pass the ball, block the opponent, throw the ball into the basket, and slam dunk. In designing the robot, we conducted in-depth research and development on mechanical design, software systems, and electrical systems. Here are some pcb electrical systems that we designed:

BLDC Motor Driver

This PCB serves to control the BLDC motor which is the core of the robot's movement. With this system, the robot can perform complex maneuvers on the movement of the robot.

Power Supply Management

This PCB is designed to manage the stable distribution of power to the entire robot system. With optimal power supply, the robot can operate with maximum performance without power constraints.
