'Dvorak Right 2025' Human-Factored Compact Single-Hand Keyboard
Dr. August Dvorak served his country in three wars. In 1945, he invented a typewriter keyboard letter arrangement for the left hand that enabled a combat wounded single-handed veteran to write efficiently. The inventor also created a right-hand keyboard layout that is fundamentally similar.
My single-hand keyboard designs have optimized monolithic character key arrays. The linear angled key columns are aligned with the natural biomechanical angle of a single-hand operator. The left-hand layout is a mirrored image version of the right-hand layout.
Both right-hand and left-hand variants use Dvorak’s right-hand letter arrangement.
The 'Dvorak Right 2025' has a 'Caps Lock' LED indicator. It uses a Maple Elite-Pi micro-controller.
The strong-side “Shift” key is relocated to the near end of the top alpha row. Reaches for that “Shift” key using the extended outer fingers are comfortable... less stressful than reaching for a that key under the hand with curled fingers.
I plan on creating an optional version of the firmware that implements 'Sticky Keys' independent of the OS.
