Voltage Regulator 1.4 - 27V
Build a linear voltage regulator with a variable output from 1.4V to 27V, this build follows our Youtube tutorial on how to design and build the regulator with step by step explanations of what each components does and why it was selected.
This simple regulator will take a higher DC voltage and turn it into the exact lower DC voltage you need. The capacitors allow it to work with noisey unregulated supplies and output a constant voltage. There is a dropout of between 1-2.5V depending on current and temperature, meaning that if you wanted a 5V output you would need a minimum input of between 6 and 7.5V.
There is a RED LED to indicate both input power and output power, there is a small operational gap since the LED illuminated at about 1.7V but
