MSXPi v1.2.1b
MSXPi is a hardware interface and software solution to allow MSX computers to control and use Raspberry Pi resources. The interface exposes I/O ports that can be read and written by MSX, and in turn the data will be accessible on the Raspberry Pi. Many resources are implemented, such as access to network drives, internet, disk images, and the Raspberry Pi itself. To make the most of MSXPi resources, a Raspberry Pi Zero W should be attached to the interface.
The project requires:
- Programming the CPLD using Altera/Intel Quartus programmer
- programming the EEPROM using the custom programmer at28c256.com (provided and available for download)
- Plugging a Raspberry Pi Zero W to the Interface
- Preparing the SD Card for the Raspberry PI (sd card image is also available for donwload)
The interface allows development usign BASIC, C and Assembly. BIOS is available in BASIC and assembly for the MSX.
Programs ara avaialble, such as:
- Dolar (check USD quotation)
- Weather
- IRC (very basic but functional)
- ROM Load and run from online http servers such as msxarchive.nl
- ChatGPT client (requires your own OpenAI Key)
