Summary: Thoughts on using Silk Screen
I prefer to include component values, such as 100K and 1 µF, as well as designators like R1 and C1, on the silkscreen of my printed circuit boards. Displaying these values facilitates easier hand assembly, while the designators prove useful during troubleshooting. For instance, in a recent project, after identifying an issue through the schematic, I was able to efficiently locate and modify a diode connection by referencing the appropriate designator and soldering on the reverse side of the board.
