Universal 3D Printer Toolhead Assembly – Carbon & Aluminum Modular Design
This universal 3D printer toolhead assembly is a modular upgrade designed for enhanced performance, rigidity, and compatibility across many FDM printers. Perfect for makers, modders, and DIY 3D printing enthusiasts, the assembly combines CNC laser-cut carbon fiber, SLA metal parts, and custom-printed ABS components to improve cooling, cable routing, and structural strength.

🔧 Compatibility
This toolhead is designed around:
- LDO Orbiter V2.5 Extruder
- Phaetus Dragon High-Flow Water-Cooled Hotend
- BTT EBB36 Toolhead Board
- 15 mm CPAP cooling tube
- MGN9 rail carriage
- Cartographer probe mount (Low profile)
Included Parts & Features:
- Cooling Duct (ABS): A custom CFD-optimized cooling duct designed to deliver precise part cooling. Printed in ABS for high temperature resistance and includes mounting provisions for the Cartographer probe.
- CPAP Tube Adapter(ABS): A 15 mm CPAP tube adapter, allowing integration of flexible tubing into your cooling system.
- CPAP Tube Clamp (ABS): Rigid clamp for securing 15 mm CPAP tubing, ensuring clean cable and hose management without movement.
- EBB36 Mount (ABS): Main bracket for mounting the EBB36 toolhead board. Includes routing space for 15 mm CPAP tubing and 4 mm water-cooling lines, and integrated cable management fixing points.
- EBB36 Mount Cable Bracket (ABS): Auxiliary bracket to hold CPAP tube and CAN cable neatly in place — reduces vibration and strain on connectors.
- Carbon Top Plate (4 mm Carbon Fiber): Laser-cut carbon plate forming the structural top layer of the toolhead carriage, chosen for excellent stiffness-to-weight.
- Carbon Bottom Plate (4 mm Carbon Fiber): Matching laser-cut carbon bottom layer for rigidity and light weight.
- Carbon Mount Plate for Duct (4 mm Carbon Fiber): Laser-cut mount plate to secure the cooling duct precisely and firmly to the carriage.
- Front Carriage Piece (SLA Printed Aluminum): High-precision SLA-printed aluminum front structural segment of the carriage with accurate mounting surfaces.
- Back Piece Carriage (SLA Printed Aluminum): Pair of SLA-printed aluminum back pieces offering strength and consistent alignment for toolhead assembly.
- Hotend Bracket (SLA Printed Aluminum): Durable V6 hotend clamp machined via SLA aluminum for maximum rigidity and reliable thermal performance.
This toolhead design is open, modular, and versatile, suitable for adapting to many core-XY and cartesian FDM printers. All parts are optimized for strength, routing, and future expandability.
