This board uses an ESP8266 and an RS486 to TTL converter to allow the ESP to access devices over Modbus. I used this to read from and write to a Beca Modbus Thermostat. You can find the detailed sketch of this project on my github page: https://github.com/nygma2004/beca_mqtt
