Dual-Mode Drone–RC Control Board with Integrated Navigation
This board is designed with a flexible operating mode that can be changed through simple manual wiring using jumper connections. For drone applications, all four motor outputs can be enabled by making straight jumper connections between adjacent pins, allowing control of four motors. If the system is used only as a two-motor RC controller, the unused four motor connections can be removed and only two motor channels are connected, enabling component and power optimization. This design approach was inspired by the need for a single PCB that can be used for both drone and RC car applications without redesigning hardware. Additionally, the IMU and GPS modules can be used independently if required, further improving cost and material efficiency. By enabling dual functionality and modular usage through jumper wiring, the board achieves high flexibility, reduced component usage, and optimized cost while maintaining a compact and integrated architecture.
