Summary: My experience having two of my projects assembled by PCBWay
PCBWay assembled my Pumpkin/Jack o'lantern light and Slot Machine projects as fully built boards. The Pumpkin/Jack o'lantern light, sized 1.2" x 5.6" and powered by a 9V battery, uses 10 LEDs in five colors that cycle every five seconds. I addressed a cable tie sourcing issue by adding one myself after delivery.
On December 29th, 2025, PCBWay notified me of interest in the Pumpkin/Jack o'lantern light, but the cable tie I listed in the bill of materials was unavailable. I provided a new part number, but no payments have been made for new orders yet.
My slot machine project uses 15 LEDs arranged in a 3x5 grid and is designed for a case with a 9-volt battery compartment from Bud Industries, Inc., part number PBS-11532-B.
Sourcing some components, such as orange LEDs and 1 uF ceramic capacitors, proved challenging, so I substituted pink LEDs and revised capacitor values to use more readily available parts.
PCBWay requires a Bill of Materials, Centroid file, and Gerber files for assembly. They provide an Excel template and source parts from DigiKey or Mouser. PCBWay checks part numbers, requests clarification if needed, and shares photos before final soldering for approval. My order placed on January 8th, 2026, was completed and delivered by February 4th, 2026.
