WS2812B 5x5 modular matrix
So I made this 5x5 matrix based on the WS2812B LED's. These are a specific type of LEDS that have a driver chip built into the LED itself making it easy to create a RGB panel and it requires less components overall. Its small form-factor (2.5"x2.5") means its easy to scale them to any size.
The main use of this board was to distribute the 5VDC required to drive each LED as well as to daisy chain each LED properly and it includes pass thru for easy daisy chain ability!
I originally designed this board to use as a pixel display for a helmet I am currently building but I have found all sorts of uses for something like this! The board is easy to drive using an arduino and the FastLED library
To assembly this board you need the following:
25X WS2812B SMD LED's (4 pin style)
25X 100 nF capacitors SMD 0805 package
1X 6 pin 2.54mm Pitch female/male header (I chose right angle male)
