Luminator MAX3000 Driver Board
This is a custom driver to drive and control the MAX3000 line of electromechanical (also known as Flip Dot) display matrices. It allows individual control of each pixel on the display, chaining multiple board together, and a versatile number of options for power and component options. It features circuit protection on all I/O lines, and is both 3.3V and 5V tolerant.
It is entirely implemented with jellybean digital logic circuits in order to keep costs down, and does not have any onboard controller that requires firmware. All of the logic is driven directly from the host controller, and as such can be driven at whatever speed it is sent, including with bit banging. This has been tested with AVR Arduinos, ESP32s, and Raspberry PIs, all of which can drive the display at more than 10fps.
An Arduino Library is currently in the works, as is a Raspberry PI python library. They will be linked here when ready for release.
