The Main Board is the central component of the BoatOpenIO gateway — one of four boards that make up the system. It requires the rest of BoatOpenIO to work: it connects to the Input Board via a 20-pin IDC ribbon cable and to the ESP32 Adapter Board via a 16-pin IDC ribbon cable. It cannot be used on its own.

Onboard: a CD74HC4067 16:1 analog multiplexer, a single ADS1115 16-bit ADC (one is enough — the multiplexer already routes all 16 channels onto one line), and an MPU6050 IMU for impact detection. All active components are socketed, not permanently soldered — easy to swap if something fails.

8 output channels are prepared on this board for future use (relays, pumps, heating, horn) via the same swappable mini board concept as the inputs.
