Attach IBM 1627/Calcomp 565/563 plotter to IBM 1130 computer
The IBM 1130 Computing System from the mid 1960s is a small mainframe that could attach a range of peripheral devices. Generally the electronics to attach each device was only included in the 1130 if ordered that way from IBM. The IBM 1627 Plotter was a device that could be ordered with an 1130. Support for the plotter included on double size Solid Logic Technology (SLT) card that plugs into a specific place in a card cage, as well as cables and other connectors.
This project describes how to build the SLT card, the connectors and wire everything up to make the IBM 1627 (or Calcomp 565 and Calcomp 563 that are equivalent products) work with the IBM 1130. This involves a mix of new components, salvaged parts from any old SLT cards, marketplace purchases of an obsolete Canon 19 pin connector, and another PCB whose gerber/drill files are also shared.
