The Atmel ATF1504 ist a great old CPLD with 5V and/or 3,3V support. 

The ATF1504-AS is a 5V type.

The ATF1504-ASV is a 3,3V type, but it's IO always are 5V tolerant.

So you can use both for 5V projects like old 8 Bit computers and so on.

The L type is a low power variant of the CPLD (ATF1504-ASL and ATF1504-ASVL).

The ATF1504 has 64 Macro Cells and can replace some TTL IC. The small brother is the ARF1502 with 32 Macro Cells. And there is a big brother with 128 Macro Cells (ARF1508).

All this variants are working fine with this board, if this is a PLCC-84 type.

There are some CPLD from Altera (EPM7xxx). This devices are compatible with the ATF150x from Atmel. The EPM7032 has 32 Macro Cells and is same as ATF1502, the EPM7064 is a ATF1504 and the EPM7128 is a ATF1508.

But there are some differences in programming of this devices. You will need another JTAG programmer and another Software. There is a tool to convert EPM7xxx files to Jedec for a ATF15xx.

On board is a 5V and a 3,3V regulator. A jumper must be set to change between the voltages. The regulators are optionally, you can also connect a regulatet power supply.

All available IO are available on the connector left and right. The special IO Pins (global pins) are available on separate connectors.
