​iPad 3/4 Retina to DisplayPort Driver Board (Low-Cost & Modular)

​Overview

​A budget-friendly and easy-to-build project to "resurrect" iPad 3/4 Retina displays (2048x1536) as secondary PC monitors. This design focuses on minimal cost and DIY accessibility.

​Key Features

​Easy to Solder: Uses 0603 SMD components (Resistors/Capacitors), making manual soldering much easier for DIY enthusiasts compared to smaller packages.

​Modular Architecture: Utilizes a Carrier Board + Adapter Board system. You can simply swap the adapter board to support different iPad models or screen connectors.

​Native Touch Support: Supports the original iPad touch screen directly. No need for expensive third-party touch overlays.

​Compatibility (Important)

​Platform: Windows PC Only (Tested on Win 10/11).

​Direct Drive: This board does NOT have a hardware scaling chip. It relies on your PC's GPU to handle the native 2048x1536 resolution.

​Incompatible: Will NOT work with Gaming Consoles (Switch/PS5) or TV Boxes. These devices require a hardware scaler to display on the iPad's 4:3 screen.
