ZX Cartridge 1.983
With the ZX Interface 2.021 I intentionally built a new cartridge format for the ZX Spectrum, allowing me to use features not originally found on the interfaces originally sold. Sometime later I finally found an original interface in a working condition, so in order to test it out I wanted to buy a simpler cartridge that would be compatible with both of my interfaces (the vintage one as well as the ZX Interface 2.021). Keeping with the naming scheme this became the ZX Cartridge 1.983.
The board allows the use of various (E)EPROMs in sizes from 27C128 up to a whopping 27C020, giving you the ability to store up to 16 cartridge images on a single cartridge - 6 more than were officially released for the system! Because I had the parts in a drawer somewhere I added a 7-segment display and a hex decoder that simply tells you the image selected via the DIP-switches, these are completely optional and not needed to use the cartridge..
