Commodore 1551 disk drive CPU & TRI-port replacer 6510T 6523
This plug board fit into the CPU 6510T and TRIPORT 6523A (or 6525A) sockets replacing their functions inside the 1551 drive.
It can be very useful if one of this very rare and expensive chip is not working.
(The other original chip can be sold to save a part of the cost..... )
The new CPU and VIAs are generic chips (not custom) and they are more common and more cheap than original,
so if you will have the necessity to replace them it will be simple and not expensive.

To be used GENUINE N-Mos devices @2MHz 1x 6502A 2x 6522A,
A programmed GAL22V10D is needed
Manual assembly:
1) Solder the programmed GAL onto the board (without the socket).
2) Cut all the strips in half, each 20 pins long.
3) Solder the cut strips by filling the board starting from one side of the edge and moving to the opposite side, remember that the female strips must be placed on the top side, the male strips must be placed on the bottom side, It may be helpful to use a second PCB (or the sockets on the 1551 drive's motherboard) as support for the pins.
4) Solder the capacitors and the resistor
5) place the CPU and the VIAs
6) connect the board on the sockets of the 1551 drive's motherboard
7) power on the drive & enjoy!
NOTE:
I will add the file for GAL programming, stay tuned!
