Project Description – Versa64Cart

The Versa64Cart is a versatile, open-source cartridge PCB for the Commodore 64, designed to support a wide variety of cartridge types and ROM configurations. It’s an excellent foundation for hobbyists, developers, and retro-computing enthusiasts who want to experiment with C64 cartridges or reproduce classic ones.

This board provides jumper-selectable options for 8 KB, 16 KB, and 32 KB ROM images, allowing compatibility with many of the most popular cartridge formats such as Ocean, Magic Desk, EasyFlash Lite, and others. With its clear silkscreen labeling, straightforward configuration, and generous prototyping space, the Versa64Cart is ideal both for practical builds and for learning about the Commodore 64’s expansion port system.
