I designed this PCB to accommodate the TCD1304 linear CCD as well as to fit the STM32F401 board as some kind of breakout board. The PCB contains a simple OPAMP-based circuit that "flips" the original output signal of the CCD, so the darker pixels will produce lower values and the brighter pixels will produce higher values which makes more sense than the original output signal of the CCD.

The selected resistor values can further be adjusted to fit the output signal to the range of the ADC better.

C1, C2 and C3 are all 10 uF capacitors.

R1: 15k

R2: 56k

R3: 82k

R4: 22k

The above SMD components are all 0805 size components.

If you want to use a different OPAMP, it should be fine, but make sure you pick one with similar characteristics. I have a test circuit assembled on a breadboard and I used a TLV2772AIP OPAMP which also worked nicely. Regarding the voltage reference, make sure it can provide high output current. 20-25 mA should be fine. Also make sure it is not a shunt-type of voltage reference, the circuit won't work with a shunt-type voltage reference. Both the OPAMP and the voltage reference are SOT-23 components.
